Biography
Landmark owner, Hugh Kavanagh (MAAIS MIFA) first began working in archaeology in 1996 as an architectural technician on the conservation of Reginald’s Tower in Waterford. Since then he has worked on some of Ireland’s largest archaeological projects including 5 years working as a surveyor and illustrator with the Department of Archaeology at University College Cork.
Since leaving UCC in 2007, Hugh has worked on a range of prostigeous projects as a freelance surveyor and illustrator. He is currently working on a number of infrastructural projects and academic publications
He is a fully assessed member of the Association of Archaeological Illustrators and Surveyors and has served on the council of the Graphic Archaeology Group of the Institute for Archaeologists. He is a qualified architectural technologist and 3D designer as well as having a number of professional qualifications in survey and illustration.
